Only on Playdate

Inspired by the look and feel of Asteroids, Extract is a cozy idle game about mining asteroids for resources to make upgrades to your ship. Build and upgrade drones to help you shoot asteroids and extract more resources. Unlike other Asteroid inspired games there is no way to die, no score, no rush. Just mine, upgrade, and watch your drones go to work!

Controls:

B to fire. Crank to aim. That's it.

Open the Playdate systems menu to find the upgrades menu which has multiple tabs for ship upgrades, drones and drone upgrades, and cosmetic items.

Some drones provide a passive boost while others will aid you in shooting down asteroids. You can also turn off the combat drones in the systems menu if you want to take down asteroids solo.

absolutely loving this game it so satisfyig shooting the asteroids!
but why is Iron Ir instead of Fe??
It bothers me an unreasonable amount lol. Could we get an option to switch it?

Hello! Had a lot of fun playing the game and just beaten it. Will there be additional content in the future such as a rebirth system? Thank you!

As with everyone else that has commented so far, I am really enjoying this game.  Unfortunately, I too found a bug, and it's actually not the same one that has already been reported.  It's just a minor thing, but if you go to the system menu and uncheck then check the Drones option, when you go back to the game your shooting drones no longer appear!  You either have to close and reopen the game, or go back to the system menu and uncheck and check the Drones box again.

I adore this game, except that I need to have the playdate perma charging to keep it idle live. Also upset that sattelites no longer spawn. STILL! Worth it for the price, and the love of an asteroids game you don't have to panic about being hit in. <333

I have just sent a fix for this bug to Playdate for review. Thanks for catching it and I am very glad to hear you are enjoying the game! Didn't even think about it draining battery while idle. During all my testing I likely had my device plugged into my computer and never noticed. Not sure if there is anything I can do about this.

Fantastic news! Thank you for your hard work! lol Ya I have no doubt that while you were working you were too deep in it! lol. While a game is running it almost doesn't matter, but I did set the playdate to not go idle, but they ONLY have an option to not go idle while plugged in. Not sure if it's too much of an issue because tbh the battery doesn't last super long if a game is running. Thank you for checking out our feedback! <3

Bought on Catalog - but guessing that Satellites spawn after Asteroids, and too many Asteroids are taking up sprite slots?

Just sent the fix for this to playdate. That is a reasonable guess, but it was actually just a stupid mistake on my part. When I am loading the save file I correctly check if the player has satellites unlocked and update their variable, but I forgot to actually start the spawn loop lol. Sorry for any annoyance/trouble this caused.

The game is great but yeah same problem as the others, satellites don't spawn any more.

Also another small bug, but this time to the player's benefit, you can keep upgrading past the max amount allowed by restarting the game.

Just sent a fix to Panic for the first bug since it was negatively impacting experience and will look at the other one next since it isn't as pressing (Enjoy it for now lol I may have to add some logic to revert your save file to the intended maximum). Thanks for pointing these out. A lot of my testing was done in single sessions so I just completely missed these.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of this game.  Great concept!

Aside - I'm also experiencing the no Satellite bug.

Totally working now.  Again, wonderful game!

Any plans for updates?  Just a stupid expensive cosmetic would be cool

Awesome! That is great to hear, thanks for updating me. I had a few updates in mind when I first released the game, but I may lean towards making another game over updating this one. New cosmetics wouldn't take much time though... :)

Great game, and an absolute bargain. I have a bug report:

If the game is closed (and reopened) after Satellite Radar is enabled, satellites will not appear.

Just sent a fix to Panic for review. Thanks for being the first to catch this and reach out. Glad you are enjoying the game and sorry for the annoyance this bug caused.

Thanks for the game.
