B-Type

ONLY FOR PLAYDATE

A few years ago I developed an addiction to the B-Type mode of the original NES Tetris. I was obsessed with getting a successful clear on the hardest mode: Level 9, Height 5.  After hundreds of tries (maybe I'm not very good) I finally got one, the addiction didn't stop there. Now I see how many 9-5 wins I can get in 15 games, or try to win games back to back. 

I wanted to make a version for the playdate that had as similar of a feel as possible to feed my addiction on the go. In all honesty I made this entirely for myself and have already had a ton of fun with it, so I thought I'd put it here as well. Not sure why B-Type never took off (other than Dr. Mario) and I feel like it's even more relevant today being a mini "rogue-like" of sorts. I hope I can start your addiction as well!

Only things to note: you can change the level and height in the systems menu as seen in the image. Once you change the difficulty press reset to enable them. The game will keep track of and display how many wins/clears you have at the current difficulty pair. 

(Given my enjoyment with B-Type comes from getting clears at high difficulty I chose not to implement the score system. Try to see if you can win on 9-5!)
